How can I tell what OS or operating system I have, how much memory I have, etc...?

1. Restart your computer and pay attention to the "Splash Screen" that appears while the OS loads. It will tell what OS you have.

To find out the speed and RAM on a Windows based computer right click on "My Computer" then click on properties, it should display a screen such as:

As you can see toward the lower right it tells me that I am running a Pentium 4 at 3 gigahertz with 512 MB of RAM
